Round 10 saw the traditional finish to the XCR season with Tan Relays
A great start to the day with Gary Hall collecting his medal for winning the 2025 champion athlete for the 60+ Short course – congrats Gary!
It was a struggle to assemble teams with injuries, Run Prix, APS training camps, marathon preps and school holidays along with some late withdrawals unfortunately leading to the scratching of our Under 18 and 40+ teams.
Our Open celebrated their promotion to Division 4 for next season with a huge win and in a good sign for next season (especially with an U18 and U14 runner), finishing faster than all the teams in Division 4
Alex was again our fastest athlete with a very impressive 13.37 joined by huge runs from Simone (15.00) and Macy (15.35).
Our Open men had a great run to finish 9th with a strong start from Nitesh, followed by XCR first timer Dave then another great run from our iron man Aidan before Gary anchored the team home.
In another piece of great news for Gary, he managed to break the club 60+ Tan record by 2 seconds, previously held by Russell Johnson.
Thanks everyone for a great season, it’s now time for AVSL with round 1 kicking off on 11 October. A big thanks to everyone who helped out with duties throughout the season.
